Relocation shipping

Moving to Kenya from the USA

Shipping your home across the ocean should not mean surprise bills at the port. We move your furniture, appliances and personal effects by sea — and with our All-Inclusive tier, the typical Kenyan duties are already covered.

The short answer

Household moves go by sea freight, priced on the space your goods occupy. For used personal and household effects, our All-Inclusive tier ($37/ft³) covers typical KRA duties — one predictable price, no bill waiting at Mombasa. We consolidate everything into a single shipment and deliver door-to-door. Sea transit is 10–14 weeks.

Built for movers

Why the All-Inclusive tier suits relocations

Most of what you move is used household goods — exactly what this tier is designed for.

✅ Duties covered

All-Inclusive ($37/ft³) covers typical KRA duties on used personal and household effects, so there's no separate duty bill to settle before you can collect your things.

📦 One consolidated shipment

Send boxes over time, or all at once, to our US warehouse. We combine everything into a single shipment, so you pay for one volume — not many separate parcels.

🚪 Door-to-door

We can deliver to your new address anywhere in Kenya, or you collect at our Kahawa Wendani shop. Track the whole move online — no login needed.

All-Inclusive is for used personal effects only. New or commercial goods, electronics and vehicles ship on our Standard tier (duties billed at clearance) and cargo may be reclassified to Standard after inspection if contents aren't personal effects.

What you can move

From a few boxes to a whole home

🛋️ Furniture

Sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables. Disassemble what you can — you pay for space, and flat-packed furniture ships for far less.

🧊 Appliances

Fridges, washers, microwaves and kitchenware. Note: appliances and electronics ship Standard, not All-Inclusive.

📦 Personal effects

Clothes, bedding, books, kitchen items and the boxes that make a house a home — the heart of an All-Inclusive move.

🚗 Your car

Shipping a vehicle too? We handle that by sea to Mombasa — mind Kenya's 8-year rule. Vehicle shipping →

Tips for relocating to Kenya

Declutter before you pack

Sea freight is priced by volume, so every box costs space. Sell, donate or leave behind what you won't need — it's often cheaper than shipping it.

Disassemble furniture

An assembled sofa or bed is mostly air. Taking legs, frames and shelves apart routinely cuts billed volume — and cost — by a third.

Keep a full inventory list

List every box and its contents and value. It speeds customs clearance and is the basis of your mandatory insurance (2% of declared value) — so declare honestly.

Separate personal effects from new goods

All-Inclusive covers used personal and household effects. Keep new purchases, electronics and commercial items separate — they ship Standard with duties at clearance.

Plan a car early

If a vehicle is part of your move, start early: Kenya's KEBS 8-year rule and right-hand-drive requirement affect what you can bring. See vehicle shipping.
